Ingredients
Scale
Cheese
- 8 ounces double creme brie (such as Alouette brand)
Toppings and Seasonings
- 1 tablespoon hot honey (for drizzling before baking)
- 2 cloves garlic, finely diced
- ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes
- 1 tablespoon fresh thyme leaves
- 2 tablespoons chopped pistachios
- 2 tablespoons hot honey (for drizzling after baking)
Instructions
- Preheat Oven. Preheat your oven to 350ºF (175ºC) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Prepare the Brie. Place the 8-ounce brie wheel on the parchment-lined baking sheet. Using a sharp knife, make 5 evenly spaced slices across the brie wheel about ¼ inch deep. Then turn the wheel and make 5 more slices crossing the first to create a crisscross pattern.
- Add Honey and Seasonings. Drizzle 1 tablespoon of hot honey evenly over the surface of the brie, then sprinkle the finely diced garlic and ½ teaspoon of red pepper flakes on top.
- Bake the Brie. If the brie is at room temperature, bake for about 10 minutes until melty. If chilled directly from the refrigerator, bake for 12-15 minutes. The cheese should be soft and gooey but not completely melted out.
- Finish with Fresh Toppings. Remove the baked brie from the oven and immediately sprinkle with fresh thyme leaves and chopped pistachios. Drizzle an additional 2 tablespoons of hot honey on top.
- Serve. Serve warm with crusty bread, assorted crackers, prosciutto, and grapes for a delightful and crowd-pleasing appetizer.
Notes
- This baked brie appetizer offers a delightful balance of sweet, savory, and spicy flavors that pair beautifully with meats and fresh fruit.
- Using hot honey adds a unique spicy sweetness, but you can substitute with regular honey if desired.
- To enhance presentation, serve the baked brie on a wooden board with an assortment of accompaniments.
- Ensure not to overbake the brie to avoid it completely melting and losing its shape.
