Main Ingredients:
- 2 Tbsp butter
- 1 tsp jarred minced garlic
- 1 Tbsp all-purpose flour
- 1/3 cup whole milk
- 1/4 cup chicken broth
- 1/8 tsp salt
- 1/8 tsp pepper
- 1 egg (slightly beaten)
- 1/8 cup Parmesan cheese (shredded)
- 1/4 cup ricotta cheese
Additional Ingredients:
- 4 oz uncooked pasta (any shape)
- 1/2 lb raw shrimp, thawed
- 1/2 cup mozzarella cheese (shredded)
- 1 tsp chopped fresh parsley (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
- In a saucepan, melt butter on medium heat and add minced garlic and flour. Cook until bubbly.
- Gradually stir in milk, broth, salt, and pepper. Cook for 2-3 minutes.
- In a bowl, mix beaten egg, Parmesan cheese, and ricotta cheese.
- Spray baking dishes with non-stick spray.
- Combine broth mixture, cheese mixture, and pasta. Divide into prepared dishes.
- Layer shrimp over the pasta mixture.
- Sprinkle mozzarella cheese and parsley.
- Bake for 30 minutes.
- Allow to cool for 5 minutes before serving.
Cook the pasta according to the package directions.
Notes
- I buy frozen shrimp that is already peeled, deveined, & tails off to save prep time. Thaw before using.
- Rinsing the pasta cools it down so the egg in the sauce doesn’t cook too early. This helps the sauce and pasta bind well during baking.
