Blueberry Syrup:
- 2 cups water
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup fresh blueberries
Additional Ingredients:
- 18 large fresh basil leaves
- 1 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice
- 2 cups cold sparkling water or additional water if you don’t want it sparkling
Instructions
- Cook Blueberry Syrup: Place water, sugar, and blueberries in a saucepan. Boil for 5 minutes, mash blueberries, and let steep with basil for 20 minutes.
- Strain: Remove solids from syrup by straining through a sieve.
- Combine: Mix blueberry syrup, lemon juice, and sparkling water in a pitcher.
- Serve: Enjoy over ice, garnished with lemon, blueberries, and basil leaves.
Notes
- Store lemonade covered in the fridge for up to 3 days.
- If not serving immediately, add sparkling water just before serving.
