Refreshing and vibrant, this Blueberry Basil Lemonade is a perfect summer drink that combines the sweetness of blueberries with the herbal notes of fresh basil and the tang of lemon juice.


Ingredients

Blueberry Syrup:

  • 2 cups water
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup fresh blueberries

Additional Ingredients:

  • 18 large fresh basil leaves
  • 1 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 2 cups cold sparkling water or additional water if you don’t want it sparkling

Instructions

  1. Cook Blueberry Syrup: Place water, sugar, and blueberries in a saucepan. Boil for 5 minutes, mash blueberries, and let steep with basil for 20 minutes.
  2. Strain: Remove solids from syrup by straining through a sieve.
  3. Combine: Mix blueberry syrup, lemon juice, and sparkling water in a pitcher.
  4. Serve: Enjoy over ice, garnished with lemon, blueberries, and basil leaves.

Notes

  • Store lemonade covered in the fridge for up to 3 days.
