Ingredients

Units Scale

Meat and Aromatics

  • 1 lb Italian sausage
  • 1 chopped onion
  • 1 tbsp minced garlic

Sauces and Seasonings

  • 15 oz jar Rao’s Alfredo sauce
  • 15 oz Rao’s Marinara sauce
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes

Cheese and Garnish

  • 19 oz frozen cheese tortellini
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Parsley flakes for garnish

Instructions

  1. Cook Sausage and Onions: Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add Italian sausage and chopped onion. Cook until the sausage is browned and the onion is translucent, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess grease.
  2. Add Garlic and Sauces: Turn the heat down to medium-low. Stir in minced garlic, Alfredo sauce, marinara sauce, Italian seasoning, and red pepper flakes. Mix well to combine.
  3. Add Tortellini: Stir in frozen cheese tortellini, making sure they are well coated with the sauce. Cover the skillet with a lid and cook for about 8-10 minutes until tortellini are tender and heated through.
  4. Melting Cheese: Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese evenly over the top. Place the skillet in a preheated oven at 400°F (200°C) for 3-5 minutes until cheese has melted. Alternatively, keep on stove covered until cheese melts.
  5. Serve: Garnish with dried parsley flakes and serve hot directly from the skillet for a comforting, cheesy meal.

Notes

  • Use fresh or frozen tortellini for best texture; do not thaw before adding.
  • Adjust red pepper flakes to taste for more or less heat.
  • If not using oven, simply cover the skillet and let the cheese melt naturally on the stove.
  • Adding grated Parmesan cheese on top adds extra flavor.
  • This dish pairs well with a side of garlic bread or a fresh green salad.
