Description

Celebrate the holidays with these festive Frosted Christmas Brownies, featuring rich, thick brownies decorated with colorful red and green frostings, white pearl sprinkles, and edible gold stars. Perfect for holiday gatherings, these brownies combine classic homemade or boxed brownie bases with creative, seasonal decorating techniques.

Ingredients

Scale

Brownie Base

  • 2 Boxes of Brownie Mix, or a double batch of homemade brownies

Frosting and Decorations

  • 1-3 jars of White Frosting (quantity depends on desired thickness)
  • Edible Gel Food Coloring (red and green, can substitute with natural food coloring)
  • Edible Gold Stars
  • White Pearl Sprinkles
  • Icing Bags
  • Frosting Tips (large star tip – 1M recommended)

Instructions

  1. Preheat and Prepare Pan: Preheat your oven to the temperature specified on your brownie mix packaging. Spray a 9-inch springform pan thoroughly with cooking spray to prevent sticking.
  2. Mix and Bake Brownies: Combine both boxes of brownie mix (or prepare your homemade double batch) according to instructions. Pour the batter into the prepared springform pan. Bake following the package instructions, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Note that a double batch may require additional baking time.
  3. Cool and Cut Brownies: Once baked, allow the brownies to cool completely in the pan. Then carefully remove the springform sides. Place the cooled brownie slab on a cutting board and slice into 8 equal triangular pieces, resembling Christmas trees.
  4. Prepare Colored Frostings: In two separate small bowls, tint your white frosting with red and green edible gel food coloring respectively. Adjust the color intensity to your liking by adding more or less color gel.
  5. Fill Icing Bags: Spoon the red, green, and remaining white frostings into individual icing bags fitted with your preferred frosting tip, such as the large star tip 1M.
  6. Decorate Brownies: Use the green frosting to create Christmas tree shapes on brownies and embellish with white pearl sprinkles and edible gold stars to mimic ornaments. For Santa Claus hat brownies, use the red and white frostings to decorate accordingly.
  7. Serve and Enjoy: Display your festive brownies on a serving platter. These treats are perfect for sharing at holiday parties or as a cheerful homemade gift.

Notes

  • You may use only one box or batch if you prefer thinner brownies, but two boxes give a richer, thicker result.
  • Double batches may require longer baking times than indicated on the packaging; monitor with a toothpick test.
  • Adjust the amount of frosting and intensity of red and green colors based on your decoration preferences.
