Description

Sheet Pan Honey Garlic Shrimp is a quick and flavorful weeknight meal featuring juicy shrimp and tender-crisp green beans coated in a sweet and savory honey garlic sauce. This one-pan dish uses simple ingredients and can be ready in just 30 minutes, making it perfect for busy evenings.

Ingredients

Scale

Shrimp and Sauce

  • 1 lb. fresh or frozen raw shrimp, peeled and deveined (thawed if frozen)
  • ½ cup coconut aminos
  • ⅓ cup honey
  • 6 garlic cloves, minced (2 tablespoons)
  • Juice of ½ lemon (1½ tablespoons)
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons water (for cornstarch slurry)

Vegetables and Seasoning

  • ¾ lb. (12 oz) fresh green beans, ends trimmed
  • 1 tablespoon toasted sesame oil
  • ¼ teaspoon coarse salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 green onions, sliced on the bias (green parts only)
  • Pinch of red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Pinch of sesame seeds (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat the oven to 400℉. Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper to prepare for cooking.
  2. Make Sauce: In a bowl, whisk together the coconut aminos, honey, minced garlic, and lemon juice until the honey is fully dissolved into the mixture.
  3. Marinate Shrimp: Pour half of the sauce over the shrimp in a bowl and toss well. Optionally marinate in the fridge for 30 minutes up to 24 hours for deeper flavor. Pour the remaining sauce into a small saucepan and set aside.
  4. Prepare Green Beans: Toss the green beans with toasted sesame oil, coarse salt, and black pepper. Spread them evenly on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 12 minutes to get tender-crisp beans.
  5. Add Shrimp to Sheet Pan: Remove the baking sheet from the oven, push the green beans to one side, and arrange the marinated shrimp on the other side using a slotted spoon or spatula. Discard any leftover marinade liquid. Return the baking sheet to the oven.
  6. Bake Shrimp: Bake the shrimp and green beans together for an additional 8-10 minutes, adjusting time based on shrimp size (smaller shrimp cook faster) until shrimp are opaque and cooked through.
  7. Thicken Sauce: While shrimp bakes, bring the reserved sauce in the saucepan to a simmer over medium-high heat. In a small bowl, whisk cornstarch with 2 tablespoons water to make a slurry. Gradually whisk the slurry into the simmering sauce and continue stirring occasionally until the sauce thickens, about 2-3 minutes.
  8. Toss Together: Transfer cooked shrimp and green beans to a large bowl, pour the thickened honey garlic sauce over them, and toss gently to coat all pieces evenly.
  9. Serve: Garnish with sliced green onions, red pepper flakes, and sesame seeds if desired. Serve immediately, ideally with steamed rice.
