Description

These flavorful Kafta Kebabs are a Middle Eastern favorite made with ground beef, onions, and a blend of aromatic spices. Perfect for grilling or baking, these kebabs are a delicious addition to any meal.


Ingredients

Main Ingredients:

  • 1 medium yellow onion, quartered
  • 1 cup fresh parsley, washed and patted dry
  • 600 grams lean ground beef

Spices:

  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon seven spice pre-mixed spice blend
  • 1/8 teaspoon cayenne, more to taste

Instructions

  1. Prepare Onion and Parsley: In a food processor, pulse quartered onion and parsley until finely chopped.
  2. Mix Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine ground beef, chopped parsley and onion, and all spices. Mix thoroughly.
  3. Form Kebabs: Shape meat mixture around skewers to form kebabs about 1-1.5 inches thick.
  4. Grill Kebabs: Preheat grill to medium-high. Grill kebabs for about 4 minutes on each side until cooked through.
  5. Serve: Serve hot off the grill.

Notes

  • If using wood skewers, soak them in water for 30 minutes before skewering the meat.
  • Seven spice is a common Middle Eastern spice blend; allspice can be a substitute.
  • For baking alternative, shape Kafta into patties and bake at 375ºF for 15-20 minutes.
  • Leftover Kafta can be refrigerated for up to 4 days or frozen for up to 3 months.
